Dedication Wall

The Dedication Wall was introduced in 1993 at the Lurie Cancer Center's first Cancer Survivors' Celebration and Walk. Every year since then, the Wall has been the touchstone of our Cancer Survivors' Day activities. The Wall consists of seven white panels which are blank except for the Cancer Center's star, which holds great meaning for survivors and Cancer Center members alike. Throughout the day of the Celebration and Walk, survivors, their families and friends fill the Wall with messages. The messages honor current and past cancer survivors, their families and friends, physicians, nurses and Cancer Center researchers. When the Celebration and Walk concludes, the Wall is covered with handwritten messages of love and remembrance. Because the Wall is a powerful reminder of why the Cancer Center exists, it now has a permanent place on our Web site.
