The Familial Prostate Cancer Screening Program is designed to provide men with a family history of prostate cancer with a state-of-the-art-and-beyond clinical testing program that will also allow researchers to collect valuable research materials to advance the field of prostate cancer research in the future. The program focuses on three main areas associated with prostate cancer susceptibility and aggressiveness - molecular biology and genetics; environmental influences, such as hormonal, dietary and occupational exposure associations; and newer imaging modalities to detect and stage prostate cancer more accurately than currently available radiographic methods.
